Disney Princess Series – Snow White.

This is my second post in the disney princess series and this weeks princess is Snow White. I love a red lip and I had great fun recreating this look on the lovely brunette, Sinéad.

1.   Using Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer and Benefit’s The Porefessional I primed Sineád’s lovely clear skin. Then I used L’oréal lumi magique to highlight her skin before blending NYC Smooth Skin  Foundation in 677 Regular Nude into her skin.

2.  I concealed Sinéad’s under eye using Collection long lasting concealer in Fair. I’m so jealous of her lovely clear skin 🙂

3. I primed the eyes using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. Then I let it set for two mins before applying W.O.S from the Naked Basics 1 Palette (any cream coloured eyeshadow will do) lightly on the lid. With the two minutes to spare I filled in her eyebrows with Milani Easybrow in Dark Brown.

4. Getting my fluffiest eyeshadow brush I blended Naked 2 a matte brown into the crease of the eye. I also used my old trick of adding sellotape so that a nice line would be created.

5. To really define the crease I blended faint lightly into the outer corner of the crease. I always blend the the crease really well with a clean brush to make sure it is blended properly. Then I added Venus to the inner corner of the eye.

6. I then added liner using Milani Eye Tech Perfection ( my new favourite liner) which is great if you haven’t mastered liquid eyeliner because the brush gives you more control. To finish the eye look I used Too Faced Better than sex mascara.

7. I added the highlight Soft and Gentle by MAC Cosmetics along the very top of the cheek bones and under the brows. Then I added the blusher from Urban Decay’s Naked Flush Palette.
8. I bronzed lightly in a three motion from her forehead in the hollow of her cheekbones and very slightly under jaw using my MAC 139 brush but any fluffy round brush will do!
9. The second last thing I did was pop red lipstick. I mixed Max Factor’s – Ruby Tuesday & Catrice 220 Step Red Up Lipstick together. I decided to add a close up of Sineád with her hair down to show the difference between her hair down and how I pinned her hair. There are photos below that complete the Snow White look.

So thats how I completed the Snow White look. If you would like to see more of these tutorials let me know below in the comments! Until next time,

Disney Princess Series – Cinderella.

Cinderella Picture Courtesy of Disney.
Cinderella happens to be one of my favourite princess’s, so I was delighted to hear that a live action movie was coming out. After watching the movie I was so inspired that I decided to create a make up look but as much as I wished I looked like Cinderella I don’t 🙁
So my lovely friend Eve a (blonde bombshell) stepped in and saved the day. I really enjoyed writing this blog post so I’ve decided to make a series out of it and add a few well known princesses. If you liked this type of post do let me know in the comments!

1. First things first I primed Eve’s face with MAC Prep and Prime and  Benefit’s Porefessional.
2. Then mixing L’oreal infallible 24h in Vanilla
and L’oreal True Match Foundation in Golden Amber, I applied her foundation in circular motion using my jessup flat kabuki! Then I covered Eve’s very few blemished with Maybeline Super Stay 24hr Concealer.
3. I filled Eve’s eyebrows lightly with Milani Easybrow eyebrow pencil and quickly primed her eyes with Urban Decay’s primer potion.
4. To set a base I used a Clinque lid smoothie antioxidant 8-hour eye colour called Cashew later which is a cream eyeshadow. Using a base helps the brighter colours stand out. The picture didn’t catch how bright the eyelid was 🙁

5. I ripped a little Sellotape and stuck at the edge of Eve’s eye. This creates a smooth line and helps when applying eyeliner. Then I patted Inglot eyeshadow 13 a on the eyelid using a flat eye shadow brush.

6. Using the MAC pigment vanilla I patted it into the inner corner and middle of the eye. Then I blended a navy Inglot eyeshadow 321 in the crease and outer corner of the eye using a fluffy eye shadow brush.

7. I couldn’t help but add a wing so I used Milani Eye Tech Perfection liquid eyeliner and Urban Decay’s perversion mascara.

8. I added a little of the light blue eye shadow underneath to finish the eyes.

9. Using the bronzer Hoola from Benefit I gently bronzed Eve’s face in a 3 formation. Then I highlighted the top of Eve’s cheek, the bridge of her nose and her cupid’s bow using MAC’s soft and gentle mineralize skin finish.

10. I lined Eve’s lips using L’oréal infallible never fail lipliner in rose and popped Jordana’s modern matte lipstick in matte tease on top. I also applied a MUA’s cream blush Yummy to make her cheeks rosy!

So there we have it! I can’t wait to try this look out on myself 🙂
Until next time,

3 top tips to make your blemishes disappear!

We all have our bad skin days and even when we do everything we’re told, sometimes a spot appears  🙁 Nothing is worse then when a big event is coming up or even a Saturday night out and you have a mini monster on your face.

So here are my top tips on how you can make your blemishes disappear.

1. Prime

Dab a little eye-shadow primer on your spot before popping concealer on top. Your concealer won’t budge all day or night. I use Urban Decay’s Primer Potion!

2. Distract

Usually when I get spots it’s on my chin. So I put some red lippy on or create a dramatic smokey eye to take the attention away! Instead of focusing on your spot draw the eye to your colorful lips 🙂

3. Banish the shadow

Picture –  topinaction.com

If your spot is raised dab a little concealer a shade lighter then your foundation underneath. When a spot is raised it’s usually really noticeable because it creates a shadow. The concealer takes the attention away.

Bonus tip – Use a creamy concealer paired with a pointy concealer brush to cover all angles.

So these are my secrets to making blemishes disappear! Comment below if they worked for you 🙂
Until next time, happy reading and drink plenty of tea,

June favourites

I know I’m late and it’s already 8th of July (yikes!!) However, I thought I’d give you an update on the products I’m using and items I’m loving. So here are my June favorites 🙂

I love this t shirt I picked up in Penneys for €8.
Barry M’s Gelly High Shine in Grapefruit.

Vanilla, Kitschmas, Pink, Push the edge and Grey are some of the MAC pigments I purchased last month. I haven’t had a chance to use them all but I’m smitten with vanilla.

Garnier  Micellar Water has fast become one of my regulars in my skin care routine! I love how its mostly made out of water and how soft it makes my skin feel.

The happiest place in the world aka Disneyland. I’ve been before and it was great to be back. I think because I was older I was able to appreciate the experience more. Anyone who knows me know that I love Disney!

Also I got to wear my Disney top from Penneys 🙂
So that wraps it up for my June favorites! Let me know if we share any !
Happy reading,
Caitríona xo
