Halloween | Comic Book Character

Since it’s coming up to one of favourite times of year I’ve decided to dedicate October to creating weird and wonderful characters that you can dress up on the 31st ūüôā My lovely sister Aoife (who you’ve seen before here) was excited to sit as my model!

¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†1. I applied a moisturiser on Aoife’s skin and let it set for five minutes. After I used Rimmel’s Fix & Perfect Primer.

2. I then took my stippling brush and blended Collection’s Perfection Foundation into Aoife’s skin. You’re going for a full coverage look so I applied Collection’s lasting perfection concealer under her eyes and around problematic areas.

3. Using Urban Decay’s Flush¬†Palette¬†I applied the blush and highlight¬†to the cheekbones. I lightly blended Benefit’s bronzer Hoola to add depth to the cheekbones!

4. ¬†I applied Urban Decay’s Eye Primer Potion before adding a cream base called Bikini – Tini from Benefit’s World Famous Neutrals eyeshadow kit.

5. I patted on the colour Blingo! from the same kit all over the lid with a flat eye shadow brush.

6. I did a dramatic extended eye liner look bringing it from the inner corner of the eye to just before the eyebrow ended using Flormar’s Precision Tip Fluid Liner in black.

7. Starting from the beginning of the eyelash line I drew a thick line following the natural shape of the eye. I extended it a little past the original eyeliner.

8. Using the same eye liner I drew a straight line down the bridge of her nose and a curved line along the nostril and sides.

9. Continuing with the liner I drew along the jaw, under and over the chin. The key to this look is enhancing certain features and drawing attention to them!

10. I wanted Aoife to look furrowed so I added two lines between her eyebrow. Then I enhanced her eyebrows using a black eyeshadow. I used crave from the Naked Basics Palette.

11. One of my favorite parts of this look was creating the diagonal dots along Aoife’s face. The dots can be as big or small as you want but personally I think the bigger dot was more striking! I used a cheap & newly bought red lipstick and threw it out after. I applied it with a pencil shaped brush to achieve this look!

12. Last but not least I lined Aoife’s lips using P.S I Love red lipliner! On top I used NYC’s Ultra Moist Lipwear Lipstick in Retro Red. ¬†Finishing the look I used the liner to make Aoife’s lips¬†look bigger!

P.S Thank you very much to everyone who voted me. I’m a finalist in the best beauty blog category for the Blog Awards Ireland. ¬†I am DELIGHTED <3

I Love Autumn Tag.

This week’s post is a little different from my usual posts. It’s a mixture between the best things about Autumn and a get to know me post. I couldn’t find a definite list of questions so I’ve taken the liberty of taking questions from a few autumnal tags! ¬† ¬†ūüôā
¬†I’ve tagged fellow bloggers at the bottom so be sure to check them out!

1.Favourite Autumn Lip Product?

Credit: Polyvore

My favourite lip product would have to be a MAC lipstick called Hang Up. It’s a rich burgundy colour that instantly reminds me of this time of year!

2. Favourite Autumn Nail Colour?

I don’t have one particular nail colour that I love but burgundy, red and orange colours are among the colours I ¬†frequently wear. Above is a picture of my nails now, Nadia from Gel Nails Dublin¬†¬†did them and I am in love.

3. Favourite Autumn Drink?

¬†Surprise surprise I would have to say my favourite drink would have to be the classic cup of tae. I’ve never been a fan of coffee so a hot cup of tea on a cold night suits me fine!

4. Favourite Autumn Candle?

I don’t have a particular candle that I burn around this time of year but light a vanilla scented candle and I’m happy!

5.Favourite Make Up Look?

I love love love gold smokey eyes this time of year. I usually use my Naked Palette 2 or 3 to achieve a golden look.

6. Favourite Autumn Accessory?

My favourite wine wooly hat. It keeps me warm and is neutral enough to match with most of my clothes!

7. Favourite Halloween Movie?

Halloween Town is a classic Halloween movie that I watch nearly every year. I hate scary movies so I avoid them like the plague.

8. Favourite Halloween Sweets?

No doubt about it toffee popcorn is my favourite Halloween sweet. It seems to be a seasonal treat and when I see a bag I have to dig in.

9. What are you dressing up for Halloween as?

I haven’t fully decided what I would like to dress up as for halloween but last year I dressed up as Cruella de Vil and I had so much fun!

10. What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

I suppose my favourite thing about Autumn definitely is the style. I loved the layered look and wrapping up with scarfs and hats is my favourite part.

This weeks post is my five favourite beauty products under ‚ā¨5! I love finding a beauty bargain so I’ve compiled all my favourites into one place.

1. Natural Collection Cream Blush ‚ā¨2.79

I’ve never paid much attention to Natural Collection before but when I picked up this cream blush I couldn’t help try it out. It has a great finish and is very blend-able. This colour is called Rosy Pink and I use it as a day to day blush!

2. ¬†W7 Mega Matte Lips ‚ā¨2.50

Coming into the Winter months matte lips are coming back into fashion. ¬†The thing I love about this product is that it doesn’t dry my lips out which happens with most mattifying products. These two colours are Red & Pink. W7 is stocked in Cara Pharmacy!

3. P.S Love Lipliner Pencil ‚ā¨1.50

This lipliner has been doing the rounds in the blogging circle. So much so, I had to try it for myself and I wasn’t disappointed. The pencil is very pigmented and can easily be applied. The only major downfall with this product is that the name isn’t marked very clear. So I’ll name the shades ¬†Plum, Red and Pink! You can buy them in any Penneys/Primark shop.

4. i.Envy Fake Eye Lashes in Au Naturale 01 ‚ā¨3.50

I’m 100% sure you’ve seen these eyelashes on the blog before. They really are my go to lash because they give you a fuller lash look without compromising how natural you look. The best part is that they’re really affordable! Available in Penneys/Primark ūüôā

5. P.S Love Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches ‚ā¨1.50

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a busy few weeks. So I made time for these bad boys. I popped them on and before I knew it I looked less tired and drained. It may not be a permanent solution but paired with being hydrated (aka drinking that litre of water we’re meant to) and a good night sleep it works wonders!

You can buy them in Penneys!

If you would like to see more of these posts do let me know in the comments!
Until next time,

Review | Milani Eye Tech Perfection Liquid Liner.

This week’s post is a review on Milani’s Eye Tech Perfection Liquid Liner. I’ll be telling you my likes and dislikes about the product, testing it out and making the decision whether or not I’ll be repurchasing!

  • Grip. The shape of the eyeliner is curved so it allows you to have more control.
  • Teamed with a good eyeshadow primer the liquid liner will stay in place all day. It’s a great long lasting liquid liner.
  • The fine tip point is great for creating a thick or thin line, which is great for going from a day to night look.
  • Comfortable in hand. My hand didn’t cramp and whatever way I held the pen it sat perfectly !

  • When applying the eye liner sometime I found that I had to shake the pen to make more product come out. However that is usually the case with pen liners.
  • It only comes in jet black. I’d love to see a broader range of colours like browns or even bright colours like teal!

Smudge Test

I let the liner dry on my hand for 15 to 20 seconds and  rubbed it with my index finger for a few seconds. It did not smudge one bit, however it did fade a little.

Would I purchase it again?  Yes!! I love love love the shape of the pen! Hopefully Milani bring out more shades!

Until next time,
happy reading and tea drinking.

Hey shorty it’s the short list….

I really have no words for how happy I am to be shortlisted for The Blog Award Ireland. To be writing that I am included in the best beauty category is surreal. Especially considering Make Up Don’t Fake Up is less than a year old.
Firstly I’m writing this post to say a massive thank you to anyone who reads my scribbles, comments, or shares. To whomever nominated me in the first place, you really are the best. Secondly I need to ask one more favour. To become a finalist in The Blog Awards I need your help.
“The public vote is only worth¬†30%¬†of the ¬†overall mark. All shortlisted blogs will also be judged again by our panel of public judge which is worth¬†70%¬†of the mark. Blog HQ will combine the public vote mark and the judge‚Äôs mark to arrive at a total mark. From this our finalist list will be decided.” – Blog Awards Ireland.
As you can see  30% of the overall score is up to a public vote. This is a huge percentage of the deciding factor and I would really truly deeply be grateful if you voted for me. It is an understatement  to say how happy I am to have gone this far and if I could go further it would mean the world to me. The button on the top right corner of the blog leads you to where you can vote for me or follow the link below. It will be there for two weeks only and that is when voting finishes!
Until Wednesday,
happy reading and tea drinking,

5 Ways to Make a College Room Feel Like Home.

This time two years ago I was starting my first year in NUIG aka National University of Ireland Galway and I really had no clue what to bring. Two years on, I’m going into my third year of college and I have picked up some tips and tricks on the way. Often enough college accommodation can be bleak and basic. So, for the freshers who are embarking on your first year of college or the returning students, here are some of my tips and tricks on how to make your college accommodation feel like home!

1. Candles

I LOVE candles. They smell amazing and for the most part they cost very little. I picked up these candles in ikea. Candles can be placed anywhere and come in different sizes to suit any room. I really like the candles pictured above because they look unique.

2. Pictures

What better way to remind you of home then having your nearest and dearest on display. I love hanging up pictures on the wall to remind me of fun and good times. However, you can’t always hang thing up on the wall because it can be damaged. So buy some quirky frames and pop your pictures inside. You can place them on your bedside table or on your desk.

Tiger have some great frames I’ve linked the website below so you can find the nearest shop!

3. Colourful Duvet Covers

Penneys have a great homeware section so I’m always picking up affordable duvet sets. Buying bright colours makes the room brighter. Your bed is usually the main focus of the room so why not make it stand out. The duvet set above is from Penneys last year homeware collection!

4. Cushions

Another thing to add to your bed is cushions. They come in all shapes and sizes and can really add personality to your room. I love pugs so I’m fond of my pug cushion! The cushions above are all from Penneys and I have picked them up over the years so I doubt they’re still in stock!

5. Fairy Lights

Fairy lights are not for everyone but I think they can add to a room. These bad boys are from ikea and I wrap them around my bed!
I thought I’d give you an example of it all together! My room last room last year ūüôā

Until my next post,

happy reading & tea drinking,
