This time two years ago I was starting my first year in NUIG aka National University of Ireland Galway and I really had no clue what to bring. Two years on, I’m going into my third year of college and I have picked up some tips and tricks on the way. Often enough college accommodation can be bleak and basic. So, for the freshers who are embarking on your first year of college or the returning students, here are some of my tips and tricks on how to make your college accommodation feel like home!

I love hanging up pictures on the wall to remind me of fun and good times. However, you can’t always hang thing up on the wall because it can be damaged. So buy some quirky frames and pop your pictures inside. You can place them on your bedside table or on your desk.

3. Colourful Duvet Covers

Penneys have a great homeware section so I’m always picking up affordable duvet sets. Buying bright colours makes the room brighter. Your bed is usually the main focus of the room so why not make it stand out. The duvet set above is from Penneys last year homeware collection!

Another thing to add to your bed is cushions. They come in all shapes and sizes and can really add personality to your room. I love pugs so I’m fond of my pug cushion! The cushions above are all from Penneys and I have picked them up over the years so I doubt they’re still in stock!
5. Fairy Lights
Fairy lights are not for everyone but I think they can add to a room. These bad boys are from ikea and I wrap them around my bed!

Probably one of my faves of the group is Iris. This girls selfies are ridiculously on point! Teach me?

Leanne always has the next beauty trend. To keep up to date, hit the follow button!
Jade’s Berlin snaps made me travel hungry. Follow her for best book buys, food snaps and her blog updates <3

If you’ve read my blog before you’ll know that I love Penneys. I love reading other peoples posts and I have a habit of looking at Penneys or Primark hauls on Youtube. So without further ado these are some of the pieces I have picked up over the last month!
First things first I’m the realest (sorry). I’m heading on holiday to Florida in a months time so I picked up these cute t-shirts for during the day.
|Red Striped Top €6
|Life’s A Beach €6
|Grey Cami €3
|Disney Princess Top €8
I really can’t wait to wear this princess top in Disneyland 🙂
The P.S I LOVE YOU brand have released new skin care products. I picked up a few of them to try them out. I really like the nose strips and I have yet to try out the eye mask.
|Pore Strips €1.50
|Eye Patches €1.50
Macadamia Oil Hask Hair Mask
|Macadamia Oil €2
In-between visits to the hairdresser I love using hair masks. I know when I’m getting split ends I love using them because they make my hair soft and shiny!
Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water
I have heard of this product so much over the last few months that I had to give it a go myself. It’s a water based cleanser so you don’t have to wash your face after. I can see what everyone is raving about! This had quickly become one of my favourite skin care products and this is the second bottle I have bought.
My favourite item on the haul has to be this neon pink clear make up bag. It’ll be so handy for travelling 🙂
|Make up bag €4
I have become obsessed with pearls. Not only have I become obsessed with pearls but penney’s have too (lucky me)! So when I saw these pearls I had to pick them up such a bargain 🙂
|Pearl Earrings €1.50
So there we have it my first Penney’s haul! If you would like to see more of these kind of posts let me know on Facebook or Twitter!
Until next time,
1. Coco Earrings
I have been looking for these earrings since I saw Rihanna wearing them. I love how it’s a twist on a classic look. I can’t wait to get these earrings and I’ll be buying them from Irish website Glitz and Pieces. For €13 they’re a steal!
2. Colour block cami
Monochrome is one of those trends that never seems to completely disappear. I love this tank top from River Island because it is one of those tops that you could turn from a day to a night look. For €25 you could look trés chic.
3. Baby Blue Skirt
I love this baby blue skirt that I found on Asos. The colour is really summery and bright! The skirt is €38.35
4. Urban Decay Naked Skin Illuminating Beauty Balm
As the summer approaches I like wearing beauty balms instead of foundation every day. The balm has SPF 20 in it so it’ll protect your skin from the sun and protect me from getting too many freckles!!! You can add it to your foundation to make it more dewy. I’m looking forward to trying it out! You can find in any Debenhams shop with an Urban Decay stand for €30
5. PS Love This – Brush Cleaner
A friend of mine told me about this brush cleaner and I’m ridiculously excited to try it. Two things majorly stand out, number one the price and number two the quality. For such a cheap price if it doesn’t live to the hype it won’t break the bank! It’s really important to clean your brushes as your brush picks up bacteria, oil and dirt! Cleaning your brushes can prevent breakouts, pink eye and viral infections that can do serious permanent damage!
This brush cleaner is available in Penneys/Primark for €2 !
6. Chaos and the Calm – James Bay
I REALLY like the song Hold Back The River, so much so that I have it playing on my Spotify on repeat. I’m going to buy the album soon enough and knowing me I’ll be addicted soon enough.
So that’s my April Wish List guys! If you buy any of these products let me know if you like them by tagging me on instagram @yabighamya !
Until next time,
Hi guys so this is my first ever wish list on the blog. I really like reading other peoples wish lists so I decided to add this feature to mine.
I’ll post things that I’ve spotted over a month at a time. I’ll be posting things like make-up, hair accessories/products, jewellery, books, albums and miscellaneous bits and pieces.
So without further ado here is my March Wish List!
1. No7 Skin Illuminator
I got my hands on some No7 vouchers for my birthday, so the next time I’m in Boots I’ll be picking up this little gem. I’ve heard so many great things about this illuminator and coming into the summer months I love the dewy look!
2. Contour Powder / Blush Palette
I’ve heard so many good things about this product and when I saw it in action on Exposé, I decided I needed to add it to my makeup collection. I like the fact the palette includes blushes as well as contour powders because it makes it more compact.
3. MAC Living Legend – Lipstick
I’m a big fan of red lipsticks. I’m a big believer that a red lip can lift your make up! I saw this colour on one of my favourite MUA’s BuffandBlend !
You can find these lipstick in any MAC or Brown Thomas Shop around Ireland!
4. Smash box Oil Free Primer
I’m jetting off on my holidays in a few weeks time so I’m looking for make up that lasts in the heat! I’ve read a ton of good reviews about this primer. So I cant wait to test out this primer in the desert!
5. Ribba Picture Ledge
I’m always looking for ways to make my room more organised. I love my ever-growing nail polish collection but I never found a good way of putting them on display, until now.
While browsing on the ikea website (bad habit), I spotted these guys! I know that they’re picture ledges, but I think they could work as a nail polish display!
6. ASOS Chunky Cat Eye Sunglasses
I love sunglasses! They can instantly change your outfit! So I really want to add these bad boys to my collection!
You can find them here:
