My go to Naked 3 Palette Look.

I thought I would share one of my favourite night time makeup looks using the Naked Palette 3, so following these steps you can achieve this look! Thanks to my little sis Aoife, for being brave enough to put her naked face on the web (you go girl!). I’ll start with the base tutorial but you can skip further down for the eyeshadow tutorial!

Base Tutorial

  1.  Make sure you have moisturised before applying primer. I used Gosh Classic Foundation Primer all over and Benefit’s The Porefessional on her nose and chin. Porefessional is great for blemishes but lucky Aoife has great skin!
2.  Aoife has redness along her cheeks and nose. I used Max Factor CC Colour Corrector along her cheek and on the front of her nose to help conceal the redness. This is great when blended with foundation! I then used Makeup Academy’s Pro base Prime and Conceal, using the peach colour I concealed her under eyes!
3.  From there I mixed L’Oréal Paris True Match foundation in Rosy Ivory and MakeUp Academy’s Illuminating Foundation in Porcelain together. I used Real Techniques Stippling Brush to buff it into the skin.
4. I then used Topshop’s Glowstick on the upper cheek bone, along the brow bone, the temples, the bridge of her nose and her cupid’s bow. Then using a clean sponge I blended it into the skin.
5. Using a blush brush, I dabbed Makeup Academy’s Cream Blush in Yummy on her cheeks blended it out after I dabbed the stippling brush along the cheek so the colour wouldn’t be too strong.
6. I set her foundation lightly with Rimmel London’s Clear Complection Clarifying Powder in the colour 021 Transparent. This powder is good because it minimises breakouts and controls shine!
6. Using Barry M’s eyebrow duo in the Colour Medium, I filled her eyebrows, (My new favourite eyebrow product).

Eye Tutorial

1. Prime the eyes. I used Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and it’s the best primer I’ve found. Your eyeshadow is guaranteed to stay in place and not crease.

2. I applied the colour Buzz all over the lid and Trick on the inner lid.

3.Using a fluffy real techniques shading brush I blended Nooner into the crease.

4. I then used the same Darkside on the outer corner of the eye in a v shape.

5. I used dust on the inner lid and to finish it off used Buzz on the lower lash line

6. Then using your favourite eyeliner, wing it out! I used Essence  Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner .
7. I curled her eyelashes with an eyelash curler and Urban Decay’s Perversion as mascara.

Lips

I used Rimmel London’s Apocalips Lip Lacqeur in shade Celestial.

So this is the finished look, doesn’t she look gorgeous 🙂

Pale vs Tanned.

Milk bottle, was one of many nicknames I’ve had over the years while growing up. I’m your typical Irish stereotype, pale and freckly. Over the years, I’ve had moments where I’ve embraced the pale look and I’ve had moments where I dreamed of becoming a tanned Greek goddess. So, I hit the shops looking for the perfect tan in a bottle.

I’ve always been apprehensive when applying tan. Tan and I have a love/hate relationship because I always associate it to the days when I was thirteen and applied it to my legs only. Memories of orange legs and a white *shivers* face, still haunt me to this day. So I decided to forgo the tan for a couple of years and decided pale was less hassle, but as the summer months of 2014 approached, I longed for the Greek goddess glow.

Investing a little of my spare time, I researched the best tan for the pale gals, asked my friends and even reading a few blogs on how to prepare the skin and make the tan look as natural as possible.

These are the products worked for me :

1. Rimmel Instant Tan

I’m not a major fan of developing tans, you can’t really trust what colour is actually going to come up and not only that I’m not keen on walking around for awhile trying not to touch anything (girl problems).  With me convenience is key so instant tan works well for moi. I like Rimmel’s Instant tan for two reasons

  1.  It’s easy to apply.
  2. It doesn’t cost me and arm and a leg

I like to think when it come’s to skincare products that you should buy the best product for your skin not the cheapest but it’s always a plus when you don’t break the bank 🙂 I usually pick this product up in Penney’s (Primark) or you’ll most likely find it in your local chemist.

It retails for about €6/7 depending on where you go!

2. Vichy Dermablend

Not exactly a tan but a great cover up but it works really well with tan especially when covering up scars, acne and stretch marks. I really really liked this during the summer because even when I wasn’t using it on my body I could use it on my face. I wouldn’t use it everyday as it is a pretty full coverage more of  a night time foundation . It’s quite drying on the skin too so don’t forget to moisturise and exfoliate!

You can find this product in Boots for €22.99

As I venture into the Winter months I haven’t really decided who will win the war, all I know is that I like my skin both ways and you should like your skin both ways too.
Until next time a chairde,
