Hello hello! So you’ve clicked on disclaimer and want to know what this is all about. Just want to tell you all how my blog works and what it is all about.
First and foremost my name is Caitríona McCormack and I’m a final year media student at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Make Up Don’t Fake Up or MUDFU as I like to call it was a secret for a long time until I started to receive lovely compliments and I decided that enough was enough, set up a Facebook page and now here we are.
I’ve always had a keen interest in beauty and writing. When I combined both, I developed a passion for blogging. I mostly write about beauty but the occasional lifestyle and fashion post will be seen. A new passion of mine is writing about travel so we’ll see where that takes us. If you see something you like don’t be afraid to tweet me or send me a Snapchat (mudfu), I love hearing from you.
Lastly, my opinions are always going to be my own. No brand or person influences my babbling or scribbles. I’ll always tell you if I’m working with someone.
Content & Images
I write and edit everything on this blog unless I have some other lovely bloggers guest posting.
Occasionally, I get sent PR samples. I have received products in the past, I have tried them and then decided not to write about them. If I like the product that is sent I write about it, a good example is this post about The Body Shop’s Darkening Drops. I’ll always tell you if I’ve been sent a product. Most of the time the products I feature are products I have saved up for or have received at Christmas/ Birthdays from family and friends. Like I said I’m a student and I’m definitely not rolling in dolla’ bills.
Affiliated Program – Skimlinks
Recently, I have signed up for the affiliated program called Skimlinks. I signed up to generate some extra money to help with the money goes into running this blog and to be able to buy products to review.
“This site earns revenue using Skimlinks. In the interests of disclosure and ethics, we want to be open about how we make money from our site. Besides display advertising and other paid sponsorships, we also sometimes get paid a commission if you purchase a product or service that we link to in our content. We want to be clear that our reviews are driven entirely by our editorial staff based on what we think. We use Skimlinks to help us automate the process of linking to products, especially as it distances our editorial staff from creating affiliate links themselves.”
This means that some of the links on this website are affiliate links which may result in me receiving a small commission (at no extra cost to you) if you decide to purchase through them. As I’ve said before if I don’t like it I won’t talk about it and the content on my blog are things I already own and for the most part, purchased myself. Anything I recommend I do because I like it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this disclaimer and I hope any questions you have about mudfu have been answered. If not, pop me an email and I’ll happily answer any of your questions.
Happy reading & tea drinking,
