The Smedias 2015.

I entered Make Up Don’t Fake Up into the Smedias on a whim. For those who don’t know what the Smedias are, Smedia stands for the student media awards. It is the only recognition media and other third level students get for their projects. There are 36 categories and some of the awards include Journalist of the Year, Best short film  and my category of course was Blog/ Vlog of the Year. I was really excited because it was my first time entering the competition and I was really surprised when I was shortlisted never mind nominated. Unfortunately, I didn’t nab the prize but I was delighted to be nominated especially since it was my first time entering 🙂
This year the smedias took place in the Presidents suite in the Aviva Stadium.

What to expect!

– A great presenter, Oliver Callan presented the awards and he had some great impressions. From the get go he had the crowd laughing!
– A ton of people your age and you’ll be surprised who you’ll run into!
– Celebs. The smedias is a great way  to network and ask for a few cheeky selfies. You get to meet really interesting people!
– Great after party, the party was held in Krystal in Hardcourt Street! A great way to celebrate!

I wore a electric blue Closet dress, from Dorothy Perkins (it’s not featured on their website ) and my strappy black kitten heels are from Penneys. I bought them last year so I’m not sure if they are in stock now but I’ll list similar shoes down below. The little purple band on my wrist was free on entry and if you come to the Smedias next year you’ll get one 😉

I had an unreal night and I’d recommend any third level student go!
Until next time,
